Well ladies, we all know that mature skin comes with its share of difficulties. Sagging skin, excess skin, lines, hollows, bags, you name it and we mature ladies struggle with it. However, that doesn’t change our love of makeup.
I still get excited every time I walk into Ulta or Sephora and see the new displays of makeup. With every purchase I hope I can work a little magic on my mature skin. But let’s face it, the cost of, well everything, is going up. We need our makeup to be affordable. We need it to do a good job and work a little magic for us.
In this post we are going to discuss some good makeup finds that are also budget-friendly. In fact, some of these products are literally only a few dollars. So let’s dive right into my affordable makeup recommendations for mature skin.
All products will be linked for you.
The Eyes
Eyeshadow: Let me recommend the Elf Bite Size Eyeshadow Palettes. The particular one I love is Cream and Sugar. This small “bite size” palette contains four neutral colors, including two shimmers, which you can use to create a lot of different looks.
If you have a lot of loose skin on your eyelids, like me, you will appreciate how easily these eye shadows apply and blend out. No tugging and pulling. Here is the bonus–you can own this palette for only $3.00.
Brows: The Morphe duel-ended eyebrow pencil has been a long-time favorite of mine. It’s actually the only brow pencil I have used in a long time. You can get it in either fine tip or an angled tip depending on your preference. The formula is great and glides on easily. The best part is that the price is only $8.00. This pencil easily rivals every high end brow pencil I have tried so I don’t even bother to spend the money on more expensive ones now.
The Mascara: I have just one recommendation for you here friends–Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High. You have probably heard me say it before, but I’m picky about mascara. I want all the things–length, volume, color, and I want it without clumping for flaking. This is not my favorite mascara, but as far as affordable drugstore options go, this one’s probably the best.
The Base
The Filter: Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter. I just purchased this when on the hunt for some new makup. I was running low on my Flawless Filter by Charlotte Tilbury. This intrigued me because it had good ingredients and touted glowy, radiant, skin.
It’s beautiful. It looks great on its own if you don’t want to do a full face of makeup, but equally, it looks good under foundation. It brings life to otherwise dull skin. Also consider putting this over the foundation on your cheeks and the high points on your face for a subtle lifting effect.
The Foundation: L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24-Hour foundation. Hands down my favorite drugstore foundation. This foundation goes on easily and it doesn’t cake or crease in my (many) wrinkles. It looks natural and skin-like. I have multiple foundations in my makeup drawer but this is the one most used. Even more so than my much more expensive options.

The Color
The Blush: Essence The Blush. This blush is beautiful and you can buy it for $3.99 at Ulta. Do I need to say any more???
The Bronzer: I have owned the Milani Bronzer for quite a while now and I’m in love with it. It is silky smooth and applies perfectly. Just pigmented enough to bring color and warmth to the face, but I don’t have to fight to get enough color, or immediately regret getting too much. It’s perfect.
The Highlighter: Wet n’ Wild Mega Glow Highlighting Powder. Although not my favorite highlighter this one is very affordable and does give a lovely glow. You can get it for just over $5 at Walmart or for a little more at Ulta. Don’t skip highlighter when doing your makeup. It brings life to mature skin and helps it look more youthful.
For the love of makeup
