This is a review of the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream. In addition to sharing my experience using the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream, I will be comparing it to Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Firmx Eye Cream. Both of these products promise a temporary, tighter under eye.
For someone with fairly serious under eye bags, it sounds promising for sure. So how does the Bye Bye Under Eye Cream perform, and how does it compare to a product known for doing the same thing? I’m going to cover all of that for you below.

The Promise….
Okay, let’s start with the basics. The Bye Bye Under Eye Cream promises to “depuff, tighten, and smooth” your under eye bags. In fact, their website says “It’s your temporary eye lift in a tube.” It also promises no cast.
Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant FirmX Eye Tightener promises to “tighten, firm, and smooth the look of the delicate eye area.” They also claim that theirs has “long term anti aging benefits” due to peptides and proteins included in their formula.
The Formula
Both of the formulas feel similar. You do have to shake the Instant FirmX before use or you can end up with nothing but liquid on your finger (experience talking). Both are smooth going on and feel soothing.
The Bye Bye Under Eye cream states that you need to give it 15 minutes to dry down before you make any kind of facial motion that could cause creasing of your eye skin. Once dried down you should be able to wear it both under or over makeup. They do not make any claims that I found about any long-term benefits of use. This is strictly a short term solution. The best part of this formula, in my opinion, is that it does not leave the white cast on your skin that the Instant FirmX does.
The Instant FirmX Eye Tightener says that you need to give it 5 minutes to dry down, although their clinical study showed that the participants saw results in as little as 3 minutes. In addition to working quickly, this formula has a long list of good-for-your-skin ingredients in it, including the before-mentioned peptides and proteins. Although it does go on silky smooth, when it does dry down entirely you are left with a white powdery looking cast which flakes around the edges.
The Results
The results turned out differently than I thought they would. I was pretty convinced that the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye would be fabulous. And it’s not a bad product. It just didn’t work fabulously for me. So let’s break it down.
I applied the pea size amount as the directions instruct and I waited. Because I have used the Instant FirmX Eye Tightener before, and it works very quickly, I had expected my results to be almost immediate with this eye cream as well. That was not what happened. After I realized the product was not going to work quickly I decided to do other things and come back to it after the 15 minute wait time.
Unfortunately, even after the full wait time I did not feel that it had made enough of a significant difference that it would be noticeable. Not to be deterred I tried it a couple more times that week. Check out my YouTube video above to see the results after my first try.
The Conclusion
First, it does not leave a cast which I love about it. Second, it seems to last longer than the Instant FirmX Eye Tightener does. However, the results (depuffing of the eye bag) are less dramatic and I do think that my eye wrinkles actually look a little worse when I wear it. If you don’t have large bags or wrinkles this may work for you but if they are as big as mine I would say this probably isn’t going to help much based on my experience.
The Peter Thomas Roth Instant FirmX Eye Treatment seems like a miracle shortly after you apply it. It sucks even my pronounced bag into a nice flat layer of skin. My undereye area looks like it did when I was in my twenties for a few short minutes. However, what I have found is that once I put my makeup on the results of the product break down. I’m left with my noticable, if slightly better, eye bags. I think that using this on it’s own and not applying any makeup keeps the results longer. There is also a white powdery cast which looks crusty on the edges that you have to work with.
My Thoughts
I don’t think that either of these are bad products, in fact, I own both now and so I’ll be continuing to wear them. I’ve just leveled out my expectations of what I’ll be able to accomplish with them. If you have been looking for a solution for your under eyes give these a try, just make sure you go into it understanding it’s not a miracle and you are limited to what chemistry can accomplish.
