My journey for sagging neck at home treatments started the day I first realized I had a problem. I was face-timing one of my daughters when I looked at myself and realized my neck skin was actually sagging down on top of my color bone area. Like actually just a whole fold of loose skin hanging down. Have you experienced a moment like this?
I have been working on my whole neck situation ever since. There are no fast fixes unless you are willing to have surgery. You have to be committed for the long haul. Let’s talk about sagging neck at home treatments to help us keep our necks looking as firm and young as we can.
Use Neck Wrinkle Pads at home
There are a lot of options on the market now for these kinds of wrinkle pads. I bought mine right off of Amazon. I will link the ones I have here for you: Blumbody Wrinkle Pads.
These pads have a sticky side that adheres to your skin. It feels like you are putting on a large bandaid. You put them over the area that you are working on, so for our purposes the neck. You keep them on for a minimum of three hours, but I think you see the best results using them overnight.
The science of this says that this depletes the covered area of your skin from getting oxygen, which in turn causes your body to draw moisture to this area from the deeper layers of your skin. This accumulation of moisture helps to plump and smooth the horizontal lines of your neck. It may also help with the all-important collagen production. They also restrict movement of that area which in turn prevents wrinkles from forming.
Given that they are relatively inexpensive, they make a great sagging neck at home treatments option.

Use Red Light therapy on your neck
Red light therapy is known to reduce inflammation, aid in healing, and has a multitude of benefits when it comes to skin care. Some of these include improving lines and wrinkles, improving texture, helping combat redness and acne, and it even helps with sun damage.
The best thing about this is that Red Light Therapy is now widely available to the general population. So rather than needing to go into a medi-spa or dermatologist’s office to have a procedure done you can now purchase these devices to use at home.
Although a little pricey, Led masks and accessories are easy to use which makes it more likely that you will actually get your money’s worth out of the product. I have the mask from Current Body. It’s flexible and convenient. I simply strap it on my head for 10 minutes and go about my business. It’s painless, trouble free, and proven in multiple studies to benefit our skin. So why not?
They sell the Red Light collars that go around the neck and usually attach to a piece that goes over your chest area. I’ll link the one at Current Body here. This is the best option as the closer the red light is to your skin the better the results. However, if you are like me and already own a mask but do not really want to invest in a specific device for your neck, try wrapping your mask around your neck. Now, obviously this will only work if you have a flexible mask like the one I’m wearing below. I love that I’m able to address two areas with one mask.

Use a neck cream
There is a lot of debate out there about whether you actually need a separate cream for your neck. It is very important to always bring all of your skin care all the way down your neck. Whatever you put on your face, put on your neck.
Since the skin on our neck is thinner and is often neglected, it tends to be one of the first places on our body that shows signs of aging. Often, as in my case, by the time it gets the attention it deserves, it’s already in bad shape and takes a lot of consistent work to improve.
I think it is important to use a cream that is specifically formulated for this area of your body. These neck creams are designed to firm and tighten the sagging skin. So although you should be using your antioxidants and serums on your neck, you should also be using a neck cream.
The neck cream I have been using for the last year is Strivectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream. Now this is not an inexpensive product. Typically I require my skin care to be inexpensive enough to repurchase often. This neck cream is the exception to that rule. For one thing it lasts a very long time, so I am only repurchasing it a few times a year. Second, it is specifically formulated to help with the very specific concerns of neck aging.
Wear sunblock on your neck–every day
I think we all know that sun protection is important. However, just as many of us fail to use our skin care on our necks I think the neck often gets neglected when it comes to sun protection. Because the skin is thinner on our necks it’s more prone to sun damage. The sun breaks down our collagen and elastin and causes the dreaded sagging of our skin.
Find an SPF that you don’t mind putting on your neck and then do it consistently. It’s like exercise, you may not see the results right away, but in the long run it will make a huge difference.
Avoid looking down at your devices-tech neck
We have all heard of tech neck. You only have to look at someone from a younger generation to know that it’s a real thing. All that time staring down at our phones does not do us any favors in the neck department.
Try to find a way to keep your media devices at eye level. Hold your phone up higher and parallel with your face when you can. Use a laptop desk or pillows to elevate it to eye level. Make sure that you use risers under your desktop so you are not looking down at your computer. Do what you can, as often as you can, to avoid making your horizontal lines deeper or causing new ones to form.
Try neck massage and stretching
This is something new that I have incorporated into my routine. In reading about this, I have discovered that a lot of the “puffiness” and double chin that we have is due to toxins building up and failing to drain out our lymphatic system well. Massage helps with this.
By helping to drain these toxins from our face, chin, and neck, we help to eliminate the heaviness and the pull downwards on our skin.
Stretching and massaging the muscles on the sides of the neck also helps to reduce the effects of gravity. There are books on this and also some really good tutorials on YouTube.
In conclusion
Aging is a blessing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do our best to look our best as we age. The above sagging neck at home treatments are things we can do to make a difference from the comfort of our own home. I hope this blog post has given you some ideas of ways to help your neck age well.
