I live in Maine and as I am typing this blog post we have been experiencing our two coldest days of the winter so far. It was -19 degrees when I woke up this morning, and now at 1:00 pm in the afternoon, it has made it to a balmy 2 degrees. I know what winter does to my skin. I have been searching for and using products to combat the cold, very dry air. In this blog I am going to share with you my winter skin care routine for the body.

I have used a lot of different body moisturizers, oils, and serums. The products pictured above are simply my current favorites for two reasons: 1. They work really well. 2. They are not expensive. These are two criteria I have for any product I’m going to use long-term in a routine.
Let’s talk about what makes each of these products so good:
Neutrogena Body Oil light sesame formula
I have tried quite a few body oils and I rarely like them. Mostly because I don’t like to feel greasy/oily. When our heat started running full time this winter and I could feel the skin on my body drying out I knew I had to pick this Neutrogena Body Oil up again. It’s just the best.
As the name suggests, this product is made with Sesame Seed Oil. It’s light and glides on easily, but the best part is that it soaks right into my skin within moments and I don’t feel oily or sticky in any way.
I love to use this immediately following my showers. I lightly towel off and then immediately rub this oil all over my body. I enjoy the light fragrance but it does also come in a fragrance-free version.
The Glow Getter Multi Oil Body Wash
Hands down my favorite body wash of all time. I had no idea I would love this so much the first time I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s been all over social media and although I’ve heard many people rave about it, in this case, I have to wholeheartedly agree.
This body wash starts out as an oil gel and gently foams as you rub it on your skin. It feels so silky smooth that you might think you are at a spa. I also love the light fragrance.
The list of stellar ingredients includes Glycerin, Rose Hips fruit oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Squalane, Apple Fruit Extract, Coconut Fruit Extract, and many more. If you want soft, silky skin this winter I highly recommend using this body wash.
Bio-Lipid Restoring Body Lotion
This body lotion, also from the brand Naturium, is almost as wonderful as the body wash. Again, what I love most about this lotion is how quickly it absorbs into my skin. If I need to get dressed immediately after getting out of the shower and putting on my lotion, this is the one I use.
Despite the fact that it drys down very quickly it also leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Its ingredient list includes a lot of fruit and seed oils to provide Omega Fatty Acids, as well as Shea Butter and B Vitamins. The combination of using the Glow Getter Body wash and the Bio-Lipid Restoring Body Lotion has saved my skin this winter.
Alpha Skin Care Renewal Body Lotion
This step is your body exfoliator. This body lotion has 12% Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acid. The Glycolic Acid is a gentle exfoliator that helps dead skin cells be removed and softer healthier-looking skin shine through.
I do not use this every time I moisturize in the winter months. In fact this time of the year I only use it once a week to every two weeks. I prefer to pamper my skin with a lot of extra moisture this time of the year and exfoliate less often than I do during the warm months.
This is a great lotion to add to your body’s winter skin care routine for younger-looking skin.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost body Gel Cream
When your skin is just craving a little extra TLC, try adding this lotion to your routine. This is my last step in my body care routine.
Once I have gotten out of the shower and used my Neutrogena Sesame body oil, and my Naturium Bio-Lipid Body Lotion, I lock everything in with the Hydro Boost Gel Cream
The list of ingredients that help with this includes Glycerin, Petroleum, and Hyaluronic Acid.
Let’s talk hands and feet
Two parts of my body that also need extra love this time of year are my hands and feet. I often use many of the same products above on these areas as well, but I do have a couple of products that I purchase on repeat because I enjoy using them for these specific areas.

I love using Soap & Glory’s Hand Food Hand Cream. It’s ingredients include Glycerin, Macadamia Oil, Grape Seed Oil and Marshmallow Root. It’s hydrating and I enjoy the light fragrance. I also love that its in a small container that is easy to throw in my purse.
My friends, if you have not tried Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair I’m about to change your world. This cream contains Salicylic Acid, Urea, and Petrolatum. I don’t know about you but the older I get the more disturbing my feet look. Gone are the days where I could throw some polish on my toes and my feel would look cute.
Now it seems like it’s a constant battle to keep the cracks and calluses away. Thus my love of the Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair. I put this on my feet at night before bed when I notice my skin cracking or getting rough calluses. I put socks over them and go to sleep. Within a few nights of doing this my calluses are under control again and my feet are looking decent. I love it!
Wrapping it up….
These are the winter skin care products that I am using right now to manage my mature, very dry, skin. I’ve used these products long enough that I can recommend them to you because I know they are good. If you try these and find them helpful let me know.
For now, stay warm and moisturized my friends!
